I Will No Longer Leave Comments on Other Blogs– But, I Still Welcome Yours

10 01 2008

I’m pretty new to this whole blog thing. This is the first time in years when I have time to putter on-line for more than the time it takes me to run a search and print out an article to read the next time I have a few minutes to myself.

Yesterday I bounced around a little and left a few comments on other blogs.  The responses to my opinion were vicious, even personal attacks. I was insulted. While I realize that these people don’t know me or know from where my opinion was born their lack of basic manners has caused me to decide to keep my opinion to my own blog.

People who can’t appreciate another view shouldn’t invite for comments, and when a person shares their opinion it should be greeted with a modicum of kindness.

Perhaps the problem is the anonymity. The Internet allows us to lash out without consequence or conscience.

To those of you who consider leaving a comment on my blog– I pledge to treat you with the gentility that was denied me.
